Reunited

Last weekend, the UIAA hosted several great events, including Members’ Tailgate, the Iowa Black Alumni Network (IBAN) Reunion, and the Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow (S.T.A.T.) Ambassador Reunion. For the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of working with the S.T.A.T. Ambassador group. A Floating Enterprise

Several weeks ago, when Homecoming 2012 plans began to formulate, the UIAA’s S.T.A.T. Ambassadors decided to create a parade float on behalf of the UIAA. The idea was to give a visual representation of how the alumni association connects graduates back to campus, no matter where they live. Dodging for Dreams

Congratulations to the PC Beaters for winning our first-annual S.T.A.T. Dodgeball Tournament, held in Kinnick Stadium yesterday. The event raised $3,000 to support Dance Marathon and the UI Children’s Hospital, and the nearly-300 participants had a great time despite the rain. Check out a gallery of photos from the event on Facebook, and we hope to see you next year!

Tuesday Trivia Answer: April 10, 2012

The answer to this week’s trivia question (What is Iowa’s state bird?) is the eastern goldfinch.

Congratulations to our winners, Eric Bochtler, 10MBA, and S.T.A.T. member Alison Seaton!

Gold stars go out to those who knew the state tree (oak), rock (geode), and flower (wild rose). Check back next week for another chance to participate and win!
