Holocaust Survivor and UI Alumnus Returns to Campus with New Book

Holocaust survivor Michael Bornstein, a 1966 doctoral graduate of the University of Iowa, will return to campus this month to read from his new book, Survivors Club: The True Story of a Very Young Prisoner of Auschwitz.

Goodbye, S.T.A.T. Hello, FAN!

The UI Alumni Association’s student organization has a new name. With the start of this semester, Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow (S.T.A.T.) has become the Future Alumni Network (FAN).

A staple of the UIAA for 37 years, the student organization celebrated its transition from S.T.A.T. to FAN with a launch party in January at the Iowa Memorial Union.

Welcome Home, Hawkeyes!

For more than 100 years, we’ve been welcoming alumni back to Iowa City for Homecoming.

From the annual parade that winds through downtown, to the corn monument constructed by engineering students on the Pentacrest, to the big game itself at Kinnick Stadium, Homecoming has been a fall tradition at the University of Iowa since 1912.

UI celebrates ‘inspiring’ year for flood recovery

Photos from the flood of 2008 hang in the Pentacrest during a community celebration June 15. Three major arts buildings are opening this year after the original facilities were destroyed by the flood.
