Engaging Alumni

More than 100 UI alumni, students, and friends converged on campus April 8 to 10 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the university’s Latino Native Cultural Center (LNACC). Weekend events included the LNACC re-dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony, round-table discussions, the American Indian Student Association’s 18th annual powwow, and anniversary banquets and brunch.  Pictured here is Gloria Pantoja-Samaniego, Rosa Heredia, Randolph Terronez, and Cristina Ortiz at the Saturday evening banquet sponsored by the Council on the Status of Latinos, The Association of Latinos Moving Ahead, Sigma Lambda Beta Fraternity, Inc., and Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority, Inc.  Rosa Heredia is also a current member of the LANA3 (Latino/Native American Alumni Alliance) Leadership Board, a group dedicated to increasing engagement opportunities for Latino and Native American UI alumni.
