Proud to Be an Iowan

One of the many reasons why I enjoy living in Iowa is the dedication of its citizens to get involved in the community and give back.  As many of you are aware, we try to do our share of giving back here at the UIAA.  This weekend, I was pleased to open the newspaper and see an article about taking the plunge—the Polar Plunge, that is. Around 250 people from the Iowa City community and surrounding areas ran into the freezing Coralville Lake to raise money for the Special Olympics of Iowa.  Raising nearly $45,000 is no small feat.  Click here to read more about the event or to see photos.

Thank you, fellow Iowans, for making this a great place to live!
