Welcome Home, Hawkeyes!

The University of Iowa celebrates the latest chapter in its long Homecoming history.

For more than 100 years, we’ve been welcoming alumni back to Iowa City for Homecoming.

From the annual parade that winds through downtown, to the corn monument constructed by engineering students on the Pentacrest, to the big game itself at Kinnick Stadium, Homecoming has been a fall tradition at the University of Iowa since 1912.

Scroll through the historic photo gallery above to relive the homecomings of yesteryear, or follow the links below to check out highlights from this year’s festivities.

• Hundreds of alumni, students, and Hawkeye fans stopped by our alumni association booth on the Pentacrest before the parade. Check out our photo gallery from the fun-filled night.

• More than 250 members of our Alumni Marching Band returned to Iowa City for a Homecoming weekend filled with music, alumni camaraderie, and Hawkeye spirit.

• Ahead of the Homecoming game, the UI Alumni Association hosted a football panel at the UI Athletics Hall of Fame. The panelists, who shared their favorite Homecoming memories from their playing days with the Hawkeyes, included Tim Dwight, Bill Happel, Bruce Kittle, Jim Molini, and Hap Peterson. We streamed the event live on Facebook, and you can watch the video here.
