Stars, Galaxies, and Lifelong Learning

Join us in Urbandale for a Lifelong Learning session on what’s in the sky.

UI Physics and Astronomy Professor Philip E. Kaaret will explain how the universe became filled with stars, galaxies, and a whole periodic table of elements. He’ll discuss the formation of stars, the influence of the very first stars on the stars and galaxies that followed, and even where gold comes from!

This session, “The First Stars,” will be held at The Reserve, 2727 82nd Place, Urbandale, IA 50322. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. and the discussion will follow at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014.
