S.T.A.T. and Dance Marathon Team Up For The Kids

Dance Marathon 20 set yet another UI fundraising record earlier this month, collecting $1,801,032.20 for the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. This year, the UI Alumni Association’s student organization, Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow (S.T.A.T.), collaborated with Dance Marathon to offer an exciting challenge for S.T.A.T. members—encouraging them to go above and beyond their fundraising goal of $400 per person.

Every S.T.A.T. member who raised $500 or more received an exclusive lime green sweatband to wear at the 2014 Big Event. Many of our student members also volunteered their time to help during Dance Marathon, cleaning the facilities, directing visitors, and handing out ice cream to the dancers.

S.T.A.T. and the UIAA are proud to help support Dance Marathon’s annual Big Event each winter at the IMU. For the past 20 years, Dance Marathon has raised more than $13 million for pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant patients and their families.
