UI Opera Dazzles Des Moines

Last Friday, over 30 attendees enjoyed a behind-the-scenes look at the UI’s production of H.M.S. Pinafore during our Lifelong Learning event in Des Moines. The comic opera’s music, direction, and staging were all discussed during a roundtable featuring director John Cameron, musical director William LaRue Jones, and set designer┬áMargaret Wenk-Kuchlbauer, moderated by WorldCanvass host Joan Kjaer. As a special treat, UI students in the production performed two songs to the delight of those assembled.
