S.T.A.T. Members Fire Up

Beat State Week featured a full schedule of events so S.T.A.T. members could get excited for this weekend’s intrastate rivalry between our beloved Hawkeyes and the Iowa State Cyclones. Throughout the past few days, students picked up their Beat State shirts, enjoyed a free lunch served by UIAA staff, and attended a cookout and kickball derby.

A new addition to the festivities was a dunk tank with an “Iowa State Fan” as our dunking target. Students jumped at the chance to soak a rival, even though the student atop the seat is a true Hawkeye fan. Pictured here is Zach Walter, taking one for the S.T.A.T. Ambassador team by donning the colors that about give him hives! Shivering in the chilled September air, Zach proved to be a really good sport—even cheering participants on to knock him into the water.

We wish all Hawk fans and our football team safe travels to Ames, and we hope we emerge with a victory. On Iowa! Go, Hawks!
