Yearning for Learning

Iowans never stop learning. Even with their scholastic days and professional careers behind them, they continue to discover more about the world around them. Some do this in the comfort of their homes; others travel and experience new cultures; and still more desire to return to a classroom setting.

Each semester, Senior College, in association with The Emeritus Faculty Association, The University of Iowa Retirees Association, and with support from The University of Iowa Alumni Association, offers a number of courses open to all retired people. This year, they boast nine different four-week sessions. Upcoming featured sessions include “Making Money, Keeping It, and Giving It Away” taught by UI professor of finance Richard Stevenson; “The University of Iowa Campus—Its Planning, Architecture, and Projects of Importance” with UI director of planning Rod Lehnertz; and “College Basketball” taught by former Hawkeye great Acie Earl.
