Celebrating 10 Years on Campus

The University of Iowa Alumni Association would like to thank everyone who came out to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Asian Pacific American Cultural Center (APACC) last weekend. More than 250 UI students and alumni attended the weekend’s festivities, which included an official rededication and ribbon-cutting ceremony, a community celebration, greetings from Vince Nelson, University of Iowa Alumni Association President and Tom Rocklin, UI Vice President for Student Life, student reflections, a multicultural formal dance, and a look at the next 10 years of the APACC.

We would also like to express our gratitude to Dau-shen Ju, Psychologist and Local Recovery Coordinator at the Iowa City VA Hospital, and Lynn Nguye, Vietnamese Student Association Senior Adviser. Dr. Ju was influential in getting the APACC on the UI campus and his remarks were incredible insightful and well received.

Thanks again to everyone who made this event special. We look forward to celebrating another 10 years of success.
