Former University of Iowa all-American linebacker Chad Greenway helped the Hawkeye football team bring home Big Ten titles in 2002 and 2004, and his 416 career tackles place him fifth on the all-time Iowa tackle chart. A four-year letter winner at Iowa, Greenway served as co-captain during the 2005 season and was named an Iowa MVP at the season’s conclusion.

In 2010, Greenway came back to campus to serve as honorary captain for the Homecoming game against Penn State.

Greenway, who was a first-round draft pick for the Minnesota Vikings in 2006, is now in his seventh NFL season and leads the Vikings in tackles. Although he’s been a linebacker throughout his collegiate and professional careers, Greenway originally came to Iowa as a quarterback and safety from his hometown of Mount Vernon, South Dakota.

Greenway credits the Iowa coaching staff for seeing his potential, saying, “I owe everything to them and this program and this school.”
