A White Christmas in New England

This past weekend, my family gathered to celebrate one of its oldest traditions. From the time my parents first entrusted me to hang their most delicate ornaments on the tree, we have gathered each year by the light of a roaring fire to enjoy Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. Although we have seen the film countless times, my mother’s eyes still fill with tears every time the general is greeted by his troop.

Despite the disappointing discovery that Pine Tree, Vermont, is not a real town and that the Columbia Inn is merely a film set, I have long dreamed of visiting the New England states. Before the snow flies next fall, the Iowa Voyagers will join Taulk, Inc., for the Classic New England tour from September 27 through October 4, 2012. This week-long road trip amid the stunning autumn foliage of Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine is one tour you don’t want to miss. Contact our office at 800/469-2586 to learn more, or visit our website at wordpress.iowalum.com/voyagers. And, as Bing Crosby croons in the classic movie, “May your days be merry and bright.”
