Signs of Spring

I know, I know, another post about the weather. But here in Iowa, it’s a hot topic—or not-so-hot, I should say—because spring so far has been quite damp and chilly. Iowa weather keeps us guessing. It can be 30 degrees in the morning and 80 degrees a couple hours later, or so it seems. One never knows what to wear out of the house. It’s all about the layers.

Today, though, today leaves no room for mystery. In a word, it is GLORIOUS. The bluest skies give a perfect backdrop to the pink blossoms finally bursting on trees along the Iowa River. On my drive into work this morning, which takes me across the river, I spotted the UI rowers slicing through the water. Watching them and taking in the Iowa City skyline—it was such a University of Iowa moment. I couldn’t think of anywhere I’d rather be.
