Wanted: Bookworms

If you are a bookworm and enjoy a good nonfiction book, you will want to attend our April 29th book reading by UI alumna Laura Caldwell. This event is free and open to the public. There will be a reception and book signing at 6 p.m., with the program to follow at Prairie Lights.

The nonfiction book chronicles Laura’s efforts to free Jovan Mosley, a Chicago man who awaited trial for nearly six years in a Cook County holding cell, determined to defend his innocence for a 1999 murder he did not commit. Could an innocent person truly be forced into confessing a crime? Caldwell will address this question, how she joined a reputable criminal defense attorney to represent Jovan, and the events that transpired and are detailed in her book Long Way Home.

If you are interested in attending this free event, please register at: wordpress.iowalum.com/lifelonglearning.
