Snowmageddon!

A foot or more of snow in a few hours. Wind chill temperatures in the minus double digits. It all adds up to one of the worst winter storms in Iowa City history—dubbed Snowmageddon, Snowpocalypse, or a Blizzaster.

The fast-moving blizzard that descended on Iowa City and the UI campus on the first day of February did offer a glimpse of a silver lining, though. The piles of glistening white snow beckoned UI students to come out and play—and with classes canceled for the day, how could they resist?

Talented University Relations photographers Tim Schoon and Kirk Murray captured some stunning images of the ensuing icy revelry. Check them out here: http://fyi.uiowa.edu/02/03/blizzard-blankets-campus.
