A foot or more of snow in a few hours. Wind chill temperatures in the minus double digits. It all adds up to one of the worst winter storms in Iowa City history—dubbed Snowmageddon, Snowpocalypse, or a Blizzaster.

The fast-moving blizzard that descended on Iowa City and the UI campus on the first day of February did offer a glimpse of a silver lining, though. The piles of glistening white snow beckoned UI students to come out and play—and with classes canceled for the day, how could they resist?
