Welcome Back

Hurray! The Alumni Records student staffers are back in full force this week after the holiday break. Dina and I are getting used to their new work schedules, as they settle into their new classes this semester.

It is exciting to have the campus alive with students again. And equally exciting to welcome back Tiffani, Abbey, Christin, and Adrienne to the department. Not that things weren’t hopping over the holiday break. With Tiffani and Christin’s able assistance, records staff added more than 18,000 new alumni e-mail addresses to the database in the first two weeks of January.

Their hard work meant that an additional 18,000 alumni received this week’s Spectator@Iowa mailing. This month’s edition includes a variety of engaging feature articles ranging from “Keeping the Hawkeyes Healthy—UI Sports Medicine director celebrates first year in new facility” to “City of Literature—Enhancing a global hub for great writing,” as well as a wonderful multimedia feature about the “Insight Win—Hawkeye football program continues bowl streak.” In addition, the e-publication provides links to news articles about exciting research taking place at Iowa, as well as information about the UI Alumni Association, campus events, and Hawkeye sports.

If you are not receiving the publication, check out this month’s edition online: http://spectator.uiowa.edu/email/2011/january/sai-email-1-20-11.html

If you would like to stay connected to the University of Iowa and campus news, please send us your e-mail address, and we’ll make sure you receive Spectator@Iowa via e-mail. Or if your e-mail address recently changed and you missed this month’s edition, please send us your new e-mail.
