Earlier this month, a small group of Iowa Voyagers returned from their Ancient Greece and Turkey trip and had a wonderful time. No words can better describe the experience than those of Ellie Hook (UIAA Old Capitol Club member) of Onalaska, WI, who along with her husband, Sanders Hook, carried the colors for the Hawkeye group:

We are back from Greece and Turkey and basking in many wonderful memories. The areas we saw in Turkey and the Greek Islands were really beautiful and we were amazed at how truly blue the water is. We all loved Istanbul and could have spent even more time there. I don’t think any of us will ever forget the beautiful Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque. All the shore excursions were very educational with excellent guides. No one could pick a favorite Greek island, because they were all spectacular. We also were blessed with perfect weather. We spent the final day in Athens on our own and enjoyed one last day of a great trip.

The Iowa group was so interesting, very fun, and we really enjoyed each other. We had our Iowa reception, and we had such a good time that we arranged for another dinner together. Having a small group meant we were able to get to know each other better.

Keep up the good trips. We will always be interested in where you are going!
